ValueRam is Kingston's brand for good quality RAM. It is for medium-end users and is a bit slower (latencies are higher) than extreme performance HyperX memories. ValueRam is good quality for less money if you don't need extreme performance for the memory.

Will CPU frequency affect ram I fitted new batt to motherboard and selected default settings And now RAM has dropped in value quite considerably is this due to CPU frequency?

There is no connection between CPU frequency and ram value. But you meant ram frequency then it's possible nowadays motherboards allow to overclock factory settings by setting up higher values for CPU and ram voltages. Usually when you are overclocking FSB the ram frequency changes too.

How much is X amount of RAM?

Questions like "How much is 2 GB of RAM" or "How much is 500 GB of RAM" can only be answered at face value, namely "2 GB" or "500 GB," or a conversion to other units. Any other answer is subjective, due to a persons' individual needs (whether it is "a lot" or "good"), and the price of various types of RAM from various manufacturers.

Which will perform better 256MB of sdram or 128 of ddr?

256mb of SDRAM. When your PC uses up all of its RAM, it creates a page file on the hard drive. This is very slow to accees, so it is best to have as much RAM as possible, instead of faster RAM. More RAM means more memory with very quick access (compared to the HDD) THis is true until the system has enought RAM to run entirely on that, and not a page file, however, faster RAM of the same value will perform noticeably better.
