Can you bolt on earlier heads/intake/exhaust manifolds.. from a 1970 Pontiac 455 to this 76 455 engine.
i think the GTO has the LS2 6.2 That depends on what your idea of a Pontiac engine is. The "New" Pontiac GTO was available with the 6.0 engine. If you are talking about a traditional Pontiac engine, the largest factory offered engine is the 455 from 1970-1976.
sure y not
1964-1966: 389 CID. 1967-1969: 400 CID. 1970-1972: 400 or 455 CID.
Zero. Pontiac never installed the 428 in the GTO. GM had a corporate ban on engines larger than 400 CID until 1970. In 1970, the 455 replaced the 428. ALL GTO's built from 1964-1966 came with 389's. ALL GTO's built from 1967-1969 came with 400's.
There were 1,968 Hardtops and 241 drop tops with a 455 / TH400 trans.
There were 2,170 convertible GTOs in 1970.
