I own a 1997 Tahoe LT 4X4, and that towing capacity is rated for 6500 lbs. However, mine has the optional tow package.
check your fuse box under the hood i believe they have fuses for tow package that are not in place when you purchase the vehicle
without tow package it can handle 1 ton (2000 pounds) with tow package 3500 pounds
Towing Capacity is 2,000 lbs. for the non-tow package models and 3,500 lbs. for the tow package models.
have the transmission checked ASAP
no there is not a factory tow package for the tracker, any tow package that you put on your tracker you will also have to install a transmission cooling system so you do not fry your transmission and damage your transfer case, you can get one at your local uhaul company.
dose it have tow package
Per GM this vehicle tow rate is 9,500 lbs.
No, 2000 Grand Cherokees did not. 1999 models do, but it was dropped in 2000. You do you have a Power Steering cooler though. V8's with the tow package are rated to tow 6,500 pounds MAX.
Modify into tow truck = tow anything but a hummer
drive downhill.... drive out of an airplane.... Have a Jeep tow you.... etc.....
Depending on the year of the truck. Trucks with towing packages can tow up to about 8000 pounds if they four wheel drive. Base models with two wheel drive can only tow about 6000.
