EDIT: My stock GTP would top out at 125, I have since then chipped it and removed the limiter and it topped at 138. Now I have mine slightly modded and got clocked by highway patrol at 149 and I still had some to go.

∙ 14y agoThe top speed of the 1997-2003 Grand Prix GTP is 126mph (limited). If the speed limiter is disabled, the top speed will be increased to over 140mph.
The top speed limit is set in the program running in the ECM (Engine Control Module). Someone once told me for the Grand Am, the limit was set by the speed rating of the OEM tires.
120mph with the Governer limiter. without Governer limiter, 155mph.
You can't without reprograming the ECU.
The only way to "shut off" the spees limiter is to get it tuned by someone that has a tuner. Go to www.OQCGP.net there is someone there that can help you.

It is not recommended by the manufacturer to remove the speed limiter on a Fiat Doblo. The speed limiter is installed for the safety of the vehicle operator.
you dont without a tuner
at what speed does over drive kick in
I have an 03 grand am gt, the speed sensors are built into the hub assembly on each wheel.
I believe the factory top speed is 145 with the limiter. If you take it off though im sure it will easily top 150. It is 162 without the limiter removed
