If it has a stock, Original Equipment Manufacture, (OEM) oil pan then the pan capacity is 4 quarts. This engine requires 5 quarts with an oil and filter change, with a stock pan and stock filter. I stress, OEM! If it is not an OEM pan, then it may hold more. Be sure and not to overfill, as this will cause engine damage through cavitation.
While owning a vehicle is important to know the engine oil capacity. In a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado truck the oil capacity is five quarts of oil with the filter change.
