Cylinder order front to back is 1-2-3-4-5-6. Firing order aka the order in which the plug wires are connected to the cap on the distributor in clockwise rotation/order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Begin by verifying on the "compression stroke" by removing #1 plug and stick finger to the hole and feel for outbound pressure or compression stroke. Check the timing marks on the harmonic balancer once the piston reaches max height in the cylinder for indicating Top Dead Center (TDC or ZERO). Remove the distributor cap slowly and just enough so as to see which wire or post the rotor is pointing at. Make a tick mark with a marker on the cap at that wire indicating it should be the #1 wire position. From there in a clockwise rotation the subsequent plugs wires should be connected starting with the #1 cylinder plug wire, followed in "clockwise" order by the #5, then #3, then #6, then #2 ending with #4. Of course there's the coil wire as well in the middle.

Barring the distributor having been R/R wrong this should do it. The computer will adjust timing automatically. Always replace each pluig/wire one by one. Mark the cap's #1 wire position for future reference....Good luck!
