A possible cause for this is that air suspension pump is continully working due to a leaking air bag
Air ride compressor, air suspension compressor, and air pump are the names used for the same device. They are used to pump up the air suspension.
Yes the pump is electric.
There could be several reasons. First check the air pump. Start with the fuses, then the switch in the trunk. Then check the pump with direct current. If the pump works with a bypass, then check the leveling sensor at the rear suspension. If you find that it will be an expensive job to have the air suspension, then go the alternate route. Check out" Strutmasters " in the net. The air bags can be replaced with coil springs at a very low cost and never have problems again.Should you decide to replace the air bags with coil springs, you comfort of ride will be greatly reduced. Typically air ride suspension automatically adjusts for changes in the road.
PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) are generally available in capsule or tablet form, but one PPI called omeprazole/sodium bicarbonate (Zegerid) comes in a powder form that can be mixed with water to create a liquid suspension for administration.
As the float rises it lifts an electric switch lever which energizes the pump to remove effluent. As the water level decreases the float weight puts a strain in the switch lever and the pump shuts off until the water level rises again
You have to replace the Rear suspension Airbags. start up the car and let the pump run, then when the signal comes on "check air suspension" turn the car off and listen at the rear wheels for sound of air escaping. if you u hear any air escaping u need to replace the bags. also the height sensor can cause this problem if its not working correctly. its a small plastic plunger located in the middle of the rear axel The air bags on this can be expensive. You can save a lot of money buy converting the air to a non air suspension. Strutmasters.com offers conversion kits for many vehicles including Town Cars. I replaced the ride on my moms Town Car about 2 years ago. She loved it. I say away with the air and give them a call.
if you take apart your head gasket and then replace the oil pump then you might not even have to adjust your suspension
Not a good idea. Special hand pump required. See your local dealer.
Either the air suspension relay that is behind the passenger side wheel well or the compressor.
That is the pump for the rear air suspension.
It is in the right front corner of the engine compartment (passenger side)
