Not if it's a small amount. The 2 fluids are very close and in an emergency you can use trans in Power Steering on most cars with no ill effects since it basically just used for hydro pressure, HOWEVER YOU CANNOT use power steering fluid in a transmission. If you want to flush it out use a turkey baster and draw it out bit by bit adding and running in short sessions until all fluid exchanged. It is a little wasteful but reservoir doesn't hold that much anyway
go and hve the power steering system flushed
Not as bad as putting a little bit of power steering fluid in the brake reservoir, but I would have the power steering system flushed just the same. Problems wouldn't happen soon but in the long term they will.
my son bought a 1996 cougar that felt like the transmition was slipping and we had the transmission flushed and it fixed it.
Probably. Take a look in your reservoir. Generally speaking it should be a nice red color. If it's brown or black, it should probably be flushed.
Yes it should be!
No, Fluid, filter, and gasket
Change your transmission filter and have the trans flushed.
The best way is to have the tranny flushed in order to get all the fluid out of the valve body and the torque converter.
Have it cleaned out and flushed immediately
It is not necessary to flush the power steering system in a car. However, you should check the power steering fluid level in the car each month.
Contaminated fluid. Should be flushed more often.
Well, if you only used a different grade of oil, like 10W-30 instead of 5W-30, everything should be fine 'til the next oil change. If you put the wrong type of transmission fluid in your transmission, like Dexron/Mercon instead of Chrysler ATF+4, get the fluid changed and transmission flushed immediately; incorrect transmission fluid type can ruin your transmission. If you put oil in your transmission, or transmission fluid in your brake fluid, or brake fluid in your power steering pump or engine (or any other variation of fluid confusion that may exist), you may be in for some costly repairs. Get the suspect system flushed and fluid changed as soon as possible.
