You will have to remove the fuel tank, and take the sending unit out of the tank and the fuel pump is on the bottom of it. You can take the bed bolts loose and raise the bed up enough to get the sending unit out of the top of the tank too. What ever you think is the easyest.

For the DOHC motor look behind the dipstick tube for a single wire sensor.

First loosen the gas cap and relieve any pressure in the tank. Now look on the fuel rail for a schrader valve and push it to relieve the pressure. It will look like a tire valve. If you find none, then just be prepared for a spray of fuel when you disconnect the fuel line. Wrap it with a rag to prevent the spray.
According to the illustrations in the Owners Manual (See "Related Questions" below), the 'icon' for low fuel looks like a gasoline pump.

Look inside of the gas tank and it is part of the module.
Go online to a company like Advance Auto Parts. Look up both sending units and see if they are the same part number.
There is none. But you can try disconnecting the wiring attached to the fuel sending unit and look at the fuel gauge. If it is giving you an empty reading, the fuel gauge is faulty and should be replaced.
