1968 ford XL conv. - 6066 units produced. Robbo I'm assuming you are talking about a 1968 XL Convertible? I have a 1970 XL convertible and they only made 6400 of them. Answer back. Shawn
XL stands for extra large lens
The Roman numerals of XL stand for 50-10 = 40
It is just a designation Ford used to specify one model from another. It really does not have a meaning. Like the Fairlane versus Galaxy, or the XL versus XLT.
Yes, they made the Galaxie, Galaxie 500, and Galaxie 500 XL. No plain XL as far as I know. Actually, this was true prior to 1968. In 1968 Ford changed the naming to be Galaxie 500, XL and LTD. The full size line also included, as in previous years, the Country Squire.
It is not a Romanian code; see the tables at the link below. XL is for large people.
I Don't know whether you mean an Explorer XL or Ranger XL, but either would have power steering.
