∙ 16y agoAlthough a previous answer said, "I had the same problem with a 2002 corvette. I replaced the battery and never had the problem again," I would suggest that you have your mechanic check the crank and cam shaft sensors to make sure they aren't corroding. My 2001 Metro LSI was doing the same thing, and it turned out to be the cam shaft sensor. Replacing it wasn't that big a deal, however, the long time corrosion of the sensor also caused the car's main computer to short out -- and replacing that was a big deal.

∙ 16y agoThere are a few issues that can cause starting problems in the Kia Sephia. Some include a bad or drained battery, faulty starter, or a bad alternator.
Intermittent starting problems in a Daewoo vehicle might be caused by a number of things. The ignition module is a good place to start. Check for broken or loose wires. Also check the spark plug sensors, the battery, the MAP sensor and the EGR valve.
check your cars alternator drive belt for slakeness.Check your alternator for broken down rectifier normally housed insidethe alternator body. Also check your battery for its specific gravity level and charging parameters
these might be your problems: BATTERY IS DEAD CORROTED BATTERY TERMINALS STARTER IS NO GOOD ALTERNATOR IS NOT CHARGING those are the only things that have to do with the car not starting
A bad battery terminal(s) connection, bad ground, bad ignition switch, bad starter.
form_title=Replace Car Alternator form_header=If you're having trouble with the alternator, you might notice problems starting the car or charging the battery. How old is the battery?=_ Has the car been making weird noises when you try to start it?= () Yes () No Is there a brand or aftermarket alternator you would prefer to buy for your car?= () Yes () No
The answer is no . The battery starts you vehicle , the alternator charges the battery so if your alternator is bad your battery is not receiving a charge which will cause a "no start" condition.
My advice is to charge the battery with a battery charger before starting the engine. You will be putting a heavy load on the alternator if you allow it to charge a dead battery. This could damage the alternator.
Dead battery, car will not start
Possibly a bad alternator. The Alternator charges the battery when the vehicle is running. If the battery is not being charged this could cause the vehicle not to start.
You have a bad battery, alternator, or starter solenoid. Load test the battery first, then the alternator.
It could be any number of things, from a faulty diode inside the alternator (the alternator could be working reasonably well but still have a bad diode) to a sticking relay. Sometimes those types of problems can be difficult to find, especially since they are often intermittent.
