I have an 02 grand am and mine would randomly not start, no sound or anything when i turned my key. It took me some research but i found a solution that works every time. Just put your key in the ignition and turn it to the on position. Leave it in for ten minutes and your security system should 'restart' itself. Turn the ignition off and then try to start you car again. It should start right up. Hope this helps. I have a 2000 grand am and mine did that for 6 months. Towed it to the dealership 5 times. Never could find the problem. Some guy did something under the hood with gasoline and told me it was the fuel pump. I told the dealership to put in a fuel pump and I have had no problems since. Its your security system which is a popular problem. To solve this: you must stop using your keyless entry. If you do have this problem there are 3 ways to start the car when the security system acts up. They are listed online.
At the Pontiac dealership or eBay just type in Pontiac sash
Yes there is. I have an 02 grand prix and when I tried to get a spare I was told I had to go to the dealership because it had to be programmed. The dealership said its about $45.00.
In a Pontiac Grand Am error code P0410 means there is an emissions problem.
problem with power steering 1994 Pontiac grand am 2.3L
The Service Manager at a Pontiac dealership will answer that one for you.
I just had this problem with my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. The problem is a short in the "multi-function switch." When I took it to get fixed, they told me that a lot of Pontiac Grand Ams have had this problem, and mine was fixed through warranty. If that is not the problem with your car, check the "signal flasher relay." Hope I helped!
That all depends on the problem your having and grand ams are full of electrical problems.
my grand am it turns off when it gets hot how can i fix problem
take it to a dealership and have them hook it to the computer. it's the only way I know of.
security lock out had same problem with our 2004 grand am
i had a a 98 and was quoted 600.00 from the dealership...You can do it now for about 300
If a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am shuts off while in drive, there could be a problem with the passlock sensor. There could also be an issue with the fuel pump.
