Blue smoke in both petrol and diesel engines is caused by the burning of engine oil during the combustion phase, i.e there is oil in the combustion chamber. The oil could be entering the combustion chamber via the valve stem seals or the oil rings. Also check that the oil level is correct as too much oil can cause blue smoke Also check that there are no oil leaks that are allowing oil to enter the exhaust system. If all that is in working order, I suggest you pull out the engine and get it overhauled.

Blue smoke is burning oil.
Usally that is an indication that the valve seals need replaced.
In a diesel engine, blue smoke is an indication of oil being burned. Black smoke means that there is incomplete combustion of the fuel. White smoke can be seen when raw diesel fuel is not being burned.
Blue smoke is caused by engine oil being burnt by the engine.
blue smoke is pretty bad.. your adding ethanol to your diesel fuel when your at the pumps Blue smoke could be a sign of engine wear. The blue is the engine oil being burnt in the engine. 2 possible wear parts are the intake valve guides and the piston oil rings.
Blue smoke is burning oil. If the smoke stops after a moment, It's your valve guide seals.
Hi there, blue smoke on a diesel motor is normally fuel, and the smell will be unburn diesel, rough start and heavy smoke that will disapear as the engine getshot.
the engine is burning oil. blue smoke oil white smoke antifreeze black smoke excess fuel
blue smoke is oil. white smoke is water. black smoke is unburnt fuel
White smoke is a coolant leak Black is a rich condition Blue is burnt oil.
It can be a number of different things. The color of the smoke will often tell you a lot about what's wrong. Generally speaking, with gas or diesel, if the smoke is black, that would indicate that the engine is getting too much fuel. If the smoke is blue, it's probably from engine wear and the color is from oil burning. You can also get white smoke which might mean there is water leaking into the cylinders on a gas engine, and either a cold engine or poor compression on a diesel. There are a lot of other causes and variables. too. For instance, if your engine was getting too much fuel, the excess fuel might seep into the oil pan and mix with the oil. Then you might have black with blue smoke, or just black, or just blue. So, there are a number of things to check.
White smoke means water, blue/black smoke means oil, black smoke can also mean the fuel mixture is too rich.
