first question. does the key have the chip in it? if it does its the sensor in the ignition wont read the chip and that wont let the engine turn over. i had the same problem and thought it was the starter. a new ignition switch could be a way to fix that but you can over ride it if you know how to deal with electrical wiring. any questions send me an e-mail wlmhardin11@Yahoo.com
When the key is in the "start" position all accesssories are designed to be "locked out" to concentrate all the available power to the starting circuit. How about the "on" position - do accessories have power at that position? - if not could be a bad ignition switch

Check the 95 Firebirds crank position sensor first. If the sensor is bad then the injectors won't turn on and there will be no spark.
Start the thing...............

Give more info on what you have tried.. Go to question/answer # 19 on the Firebird faq's list, "If a 95 firebird starts right up..." Maybe this will help?!
The ignition switch generally has four positions: off, accessories, on, and start. Some cars have two off positions, off and lock; one turns off the car, and the other allows the key to be removed from the ignition. When the key is turned to the accessories position, certain accessories, such as the radio, are powered; however, accessories that use too much battery power, such as window motors, remain off in order to prevent the car's battery from being drained. The accessories position uses the least amount of battery power when the engine is not running, which is why drive-in movie theaters recommend that the car be left in the accessories mode during the movie.
