Any high quality motor oil will do well. Your owners manual should specify the minimum engineering specifications for the oil and those specifications should be listed on the oil container that you purchase.
Brand is not as significant as the engineering specifications.
However...
Many are using full synthetic oils in modern engines. Full synthetics produce MUCH less paraffin, and paraffin is the stuff that turns into sludge and engine deposits.
I have a 96 Saturn sl2 with 160k going thru 1 qt of oil per week. What can I do to stop it?
Oil capacity for your 1999 Saturn DOHC 4-cylinder motor is 4 Quarts of oil
On the bottom right of the engine.
4.25 quarts of oil including oil filter
The Saturn SL2 was produced from the years 1990 to 2002 in the United States. The best way to tell if the fusible link in a 1999 Saturn SL2 is fried is that there will be no 12v.
ON my 1999 sl2 it is the transmission fluid dipstick
it does not have one.

It would, if you changed out the trans and the ecm/tcm. The SL2 SC2 transmissions have a different higher reving gear ratio.
One kind of spark plugs that is recommended for a 1999 Saturn SL2 manual with a 1.9 twin cam engine are ones made by Bosch. Another good brand would be ones made by NGK.

Are you asking how to??
