It depends on what wear there is on the brake system and the integrity of the shop you choose. If you do a complete job yourself, pads (front and rear) calipers x 4 (remanufactured)and rotors (resurfaced x 4), less than $300.00 in parts. Based on 2000 i35 'Autozone' prices @ Autozone.com. Y-THINK-Y
y. notho,
Lots of $$$$$. New spindles if available and a new rear end if available. Call "Year One" in Tucker, Georgia 800.932.7663. They are muscle cars but they can guide you to where you need to go. Y-THINK-Y
Dirty or "fouled" sensors at the wheel. At each wheel hub, there is a counter that "looks" at the spindle collar and "counts" the spaces and compares each wheel. If one is much slower when the brakes are applied, the system will interrupt the flow of fluid to the caliper causing the brakes to stop actuating so the wheel will not "skid" or "lock-up". Grime on the sensor or the collar can cause the system to think it is in need of repair, hence the light! Y-THINK-Y
Filter and fluid should be changed A.S.A.P. Y-THINK-Y

The answer from Y-THINK-Y is incorrect. The 97 TJ clutch master to slave cylinders are not a conventional brake type hydraulic system. The conventional bleeding process does not work. Does anyone know how the system is purged and bled? Do I need a special pump sysytem of some sort? Basically in the same fashion that you would bleed brakes. Search the FAQ answers for the "how" to bleed brakes. Y-THINK-Y
