Ok, jack the truck up and secure it with stands. Remove the battery cable from the battery. Set the parking brake. remove the bolts holding the driveshaft to the differential and slide it out. Catch the fluid that will run out of the trans tail section. Disconnect the wires from the trans. Take the two lines loose that run to the cooler. Disconnect the shift linkage by removing the bracket bolts. Take the dust cover loose to get to the torque convertor. Take the convertor bolts out. You will have to manually turn the motor over to get to them all. There are six, I believe. Use a screwdriver and slide the convertor back towards the trans. Disconnect any other wires or lines that are attached to the trans. Place your trans jack under the pan and jack it up until it's snug. Take the nut off of the trans mount and jack it up to clear the crossmember. Remove the bolts holding the crossmember and slide it out. Ease it down a little and check for anything else attached. remove the one bolt that holds the fill tube in and sldie it out. The trans should be ready for the final bolts to be removed. Take the rest of the bolts out of the bell housing and it should slide out. You may have to pry it a little but it should roll clear. Lower your jack and drag it out. There you go.

Let me be a little clearer about the two bolts in question: there arer two ways to remove these little buggers, first (doesnt usually work) jack the trans up until it touches the body, then remove the distributor, this should allow access to the two bolts with an end wrench, but if that doesnt work, you can drop the crossmember as previously stated then allow the trans to drop to about a 30 deg. angle now you can get at the bolts easily with a couple of 6-10" extensions and a ratchet.. the guy before mentioned removing the dust cover but as im sure you found these models have no dust cover. only a little inspection hole this is where patience and a neck brace come in! someone please punctuate this awnser for me, thanks(dahondaboy)
You will have to remove the transmission pan that is on the bottom of the transmission to drain the fluid.
It is on the valve body inside of the transmission. Remove the transmission pan and you will see it.
