The window regulators for the year 2000 are very poorly designed, GM used plastic where they should have used metal. The windows will fail for many reasons, too cold. too hot, a bump in the road, or you looked at it the wrong way. The good news is that may parts stores are carrying this particular regulator, the typical cost is $99 [dealer is usually $450 installed]. The ones made in China appear to be the best, while the ones made in the US are the worst. My LeSabre has gone through 8 US-made ones, and so far none of the Chinese made ones. The details on how to remove the panel to replace the regulator is posted elsewhere in this forum.
