No, the engine is not the transmission bellhousing. The bellhousing is a separate piece all together.

Remove the trans and take it to a transmission repair shop.
those would be your transmission cooler lines.
TH 700R-4
Most likely a TH-350
Yes it will if the 700r4 is out of a 4x4 to start with.
350 cid V8 with TH-350 transmission
350 and 400 models had the TH-350, the 454 models had the TH-400
Not without an adapter plate. Chevrolet used one bellhousing pattern while Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac all shared different one. Chevrolet and Buick shared one pattern. Oldsmobile and Pontiac shared another. There were some GM TH 350 transmissions made with dual bolt patterns.
Either a TH 200 Metric or a TH 350. Either will bolt right in place of the other. If you have the choice, use the TH 350....much stronger transmission. You can also use a 200-4R 4 speed auto or a TH 400.....but these will require a different cross member.
Only if the transmission has a dual bolt pattern. Chevrolet and Buick 350 engines have the same bolt pattern. Oldsmobile and Pontiac 350 engines have the same bolt pattern. There were some TH 350 transmissions that have dual bolt patterns.
Answeryes... the bell housings are the same.. Think about it. a 350 is a 350... thehy did not change the bolt pattern or the size of the block, to accomodate the transmission. or cast an entirely different 350. a th 400 is just a better transmission. don. As an aside, The Chevy bolt pattern is different from the Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac bolt pattern. For this reason, the 400 would have to have come from a Chevy. There are 400's with the BOP pattern, and they would not fit a Chevy without a fairly expensive adapter.
