To do it right about seven thousand total
The only thing you need to build a stroker is a four hundred crank and machine work which won't cost seven thousand all of the following will get you there though.
The fun comes with finding a trans that can handle six hundred horses.
here's the things we built my friends cutlass with sorry cant remember all the brands
forged connecting rods
forged flat top pistons.
good rings.
performance rod bearings
performance crank bearings.
(scat) forged 400 crank.
machine work, journals, cylinder work etc.
aluminum heads.
good studs, valves, retainers, springs, seats, etc.
(comp cams) Cam, springs, lifters.
Dual timing chain
(edelbrock) Intake
(edelbock) carb
seven quart oil pan
new fly wheel
high torque starter too much load for the stock starter
deep cycle battery
high flow oil pump
edelbrock water pump
msd setup
Hei cap w/super coil, proformance module, pick up coil, drive gear, rotor ect.
good plugs that wont foul in three hundred miles.
Good engine bolt kit
fuel pressure gauge
High flow air filter
three inch headers w/dump
royal purple oil. some kind of performance flow filter
Dyno testing
stand break in
tuning
Not a car for the street and definitely not economical.
I probably forgot something
lots of work involved but was worth it.
how do i find the timing on my 383 400 hp stroker motor
A base engine with no intake manifold, pulleys, carburetor, or distributor will run around $3,400. https://www.westcoastengines.com/budget-383-stroker-for-sale
firing order 383 stroker Chevyif it's a Chevy 383 stroker then the firing order i 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
NO, the 383 is called a stroker engine. It is a 350 with a 400 crankshaft that is machined, to make it work in a 350 block. There are other factors and modifications to be made when building a stroker. The only 383 that came from the factory is in Chrysler vehicles.
u go to the store and buy a piston for a 383 stroker and put in the hole with a piston pusher but the regular tightning
a 383 stroker is just a 400 crank in a 350 block...so yes
How much what? Horsepower, torque, ??? What do you want to know? It all really depends on your setup.
There are many places where one can purchase a 383 Stoker engine. One can purchase a 383 Stroker engine at popular on the web sources such as eBay, Racing Junk, and United Racing Engines.
6.3 LITERS
If you wanted to put a 3.75" stroker crankshaft with a with a 0.05" offset grind into a Ford engine with a 4" bore (such as a Windsor 351) you could make a 383ci Ford stroker. But as for making the traditional Chevy stroker engine, you can't turn a Ford engine into a Chevy engine.
You should get a 383 stroker. It is high powered and also affordable. The 383 stroker looks pretty dazzling when riding it down the street. It will be the main attraction on your car.
the 383 is the same block as a 350 so yes it will fit.
