Bad plugs, wire , coil packs if it has them.
There are ( 6 ) individual coils for your Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system on your 3.0 liter V6 engine
In a 2000 Ford Taurus , the 3.0 liter " Duratec " DOHC - V6 has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system . So there are ( 6 coil packs )
They are under the coil packs. The coil packs are near the valve covers, and go into the intake manifold.

the number 5 cylinder on a 2003 3.0L Ford Escape is going to be located in the front 3 cylinders of the engine and is the middle cylinder of the front three. To help you out on the coil packs there should be a white tag that will have the cylinder and coil numbers on the tag. This will assure you that you have the right cylinder.
On a 2005 Kia Sedona the coil packs are over the front 3 plugs. Wires go to the rear head.
For a 1997 Ford F-150 , 4.6 liter V8 engine( It has 2 coil packs with 4 spark plug wires connecting to each coil pack )
The 5.4L has 8 coil packs one on each spark plug. The 4.6L has only 2 coil block packs.
some models have spark plug coil packs 1 per cyl.
