Like most of the cars running this engine, the 3.8 liter V6 takes 5 quarts of motor oil.
I worked a a tech and managed a Pennzoil for about 10yrs and worked for GM and I've never seen a General Motors 3.8 SeriesI or SeriesII that held over 4.5qts. In fact the 3.8 SeriesI only held 4.25 with oil filter. You can try 5qts but your going to be half a quart over filled.
