four....two in each bank, one before the converter and one after the converter
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in your Ford Mustang Sensor 1 is in the exhaust BEFORE the catalytic converter ( upstream ) Sensor 2 is in the exhaust AFTER the catalytic converter ( downstream )
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in your 2000 Ford Mustang V6 Sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter ( upstream ) Sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream )
Modern cars use two oxygen sensors to monitor the exhaust before and after the catalytic converter. Removing the catalytic converter would cause your engine to run improperly, possibly causing damage and most likely making your gas mileage worse. Just replace it if it's broken.
In exhaust pipe before catalytic converter unscrew to replace
there is one before and one after the catalytic converter.
I recommend you have this done by a qualified exhaust system repair shop. Make sure the catalytic converter is defective before you replace it, as they are very expensive.
The manifold is considered before the catalytic converter.
Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine in your Ford Mustang Sensor 1 would be near the motor before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter
I never replace it ,only if you need to like before a smog test so it can pass emissions
