Mounted on the turn signal stalk.
Check fuse Replace turn signal flasher
The multi-function switch is another name for the turn-signal stalk on the steering column. It's actually not too bad of a job to replace - with the plastic covers removed with a few screws, the switch itself is held on with only a couple of torx screws.
Normally under the dash above drivers feet.
Check bulbs Check the relay in power distribution block Check the operation of the switch in turn signal stalk
Check the switch on turn signal stalk - do they work when you pull back on stalk? Check relay in power distribution box
The turn signal flasher is under the dashboard mounted on the lower corner of the fuse panel.
It unscrews by turning counterclockwise. There is a small "flat" on the shaft to assist in removal.
I have a 1989 Probe LX. 1. make sure the button on the cruise control is IN 2. press the button on the end of the stalk at desired speed. 3. setting can then be changed up/down by raising or lowering the stalk. 4. the 'speed alarm' function has nothing to do with the cruise control.
I found this link to be helpful, hope it helps. http://thepmcc.net/projects/mfswitch/mfswitch.html
To remove the back seat on a 1989 Ford Thunderbird, the first step is to remove the back of the seat. The back is held in by bolts on each side. After the back is removed, the seat area should come out after removing the floor bolts.
Ford Explorer's utilize a Multifunction Switch on the turn signal stalk, but the flasher relay location depends on the year. Either under the steering column (remove lower plastic shroud) or under hood with other fuses, links, and relays, inside a rectangular plastic enclosure). If you've bought the new relay, you'll know what you're looking for.
