There are many reasons the light comes on as this is a complex system. You can not turn it off. It must be reset after the fault is fixed. Sometimes dirty speed sensors in the brakes will turn it on. It could be a "broken" control module or ABS pump, both of which are big $$$ to fix. This is a common problem with the Z3s and their ABS/traction control system. If the light is on, you still have brakes, just not ABS.
If you are trying to turn out the light, taking the ABS fuse out will not turn it off as it's a fail-safe light and will come on if power is lost to the ABS system or there is a fault with it. Only way is to take the actual bulb out.
the engine is going out. sell the car
The easiest way is to turn the key to on. If you have ABS there will be a yellow light come on. It will say ABS.
I feel it does being it is that new. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. If a yellow light comes on saying abs, then it does.
When the ABS light is on it is for a reason, a sensor could be bad, or another major problem. The light wont go off until the problem is corrected or until the light burns out
how do I reset tne brake pad sensor light on a 1997 BMW 318i
abs light on 2002 s430
Depends on the reason why it is on. It could be as simple as cleaning the ABS sensors in your wheels. This is most likely if the light is off when you start the car and comes on after driving for a little bit with braking. You may have to get the senors replaced if it is defective. ABS light will turn off on its own if this is your problem and you fix it. This is your cheapest problem and solution. However, if the light remains on all the time, your ABS control module is probably faulty, and you'll need to replace it, and that's pretty expensive component. Only a BMW dealer (or someone equipped with the proper diagnostics tool) can diagnose ABS-module related problems. You cannot turn off a ABS light with a OBD/II scanner tool.
abs/dsc light.
You need to have the engine and abs checked for codes.
only way to turn off an ABS light is to fix the problem in the brake system that originally turned the light on
