It comes on automatically. If it is not on, the warning light comes on and the failure should be investigated.

I was looking at the 2006 Ford Taurus Owner Guide and to the right of the speedometer is a ( traction control active ) light that looks like a clock If the light flashes it means the traction control is active If the light stays on continuously a malfunction has been detected and should be checked out by a professional
If you are going over an uneven surface, the light may come on because one wheel is spinning faster then the others.
I have the exact same problem on my 2006 Freestyle. I took it to a local independent garage and they could not get a code from the car to tell them what the problem is. I fear I may have to take it to the dealer. I would love to find the answer instead of taking it in. Help!
It does not have any sort of limited slip devise in the axle. It does have electronic traction control that uses the brakes to control wheel spin.

That usually means that your diff lock or traction control is off. Refer to your owners manual.

In a 2006 Ford E-350 : If you mean ( RSC ) that is ( Roll Stability Control ) It works with the Advance Trac traction control system
