I have a 96 Dodge Ram with same mirror problem. Started after about 135k miles. Dealer said they just "wear out" and they need to be replaced. They are OK under 60 mph, but after that they both turn in. If I do replace, I will go with power mirrors to prevent future problems. you dont need to replace the mirror! take the cover off the mirror where it attaches to the door and the problem will be easy to see. But how do you remove the cover?
From what i know you have to remove the door panel and tighten the 3 bolts holding the mirror
96 dodge ram side rear view mirror will not stay in position
It is not adjustable.
if you get the truck on a jack and tighten it that will help. but . . . you also need to tighten the hub again once the truck is on the ground again. this makes sure that the wheel is securely fastened to the axle.

There is nothing to reset on the mirror. There is nothing to reset on the mirror.
You will need to remove the interior door panels to do so. The mirror mounting bracket is accessable only from inside the door. You will also need a screwdriver and\or wrench.
The belt on a 2000 Ram uses a spring loaded tensioner pulley. It self tightens.
Counterclockwise to remove, clockwise to tighten.
the belt is automatically tensioned by a spring loaded tensioner.
The belt has an automatic spring tensioner and can not be "tightened".
