I would like a diagram showing the firing order on the dis coil of a 1999 Chevy suburban with a v8 with dohc engine
first begin by disconect leads to dis cap then remove 4 7mm bolts from top remove cover to gain acces to coil remove straigh up
96 gmc does not have a pick up coil but the coil is monted to the intake removed by two bolts pick up is in the dis. removed by pulling the dis. then by taking a part
i wnt to know how to dis-assemble a transmission in a 1996 chevy lumina
Most General Motors DIS systems of this era (late 80's - early 2000's) do use the same coil packs, but there are some exceptions. There were actually two engines available in the Z26, I'm not sure which one you're referring to: the V6 engine is the same in the Z26 as in the base model, so yes, in that case the coil packs would be the same. The 2.3L Quad-4 engine that was also available in the Z26 has a completely different ignition system and does NOT use the same coils. Just FYI, the easiest way to check on things like this is to visit auto parts websites like www.advanceautoparts.com or www.autozone.com, look up the parts for both vehicles, and see if the numbers are the same.
there is no distributor on a 1994 firebird v6. It is a DIS and uses coil packs. there will be 3 coil packs and it should be listed on them which cylinder iteach coil goes to.
is there any corrosion on the spades of the coil?or on the connectors?you say DIS,i think distributorless ignition system that an 89 doesnt have,is that correct?or are you meaning distributor cap?
Make absolutely sure that the battery is fully charged. If the battery is dis-charged, it will not supply enough voltage to the coil, especially while cranking.
Assuming this vehicle has the 4.3 V6 engine, the coil wire is connected to the passenger side rear of the distributor cap and the other end is connected to the ignition coil on the top passenger side of the engine.
I have the tachometer adapter but I'm unsure as to where I splice the wires.
No. It has a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System).
Chevy S10 in 2001 didn't have a 2.0L engine. They had a 2.2L engine and it has a (DIS) distributorless ignition system. There is no timing to set.
