I tried to replace the stock radio with an aftermarket one. Here is what I found out. If your vehicle has OnStar, then the wires in the connector to the radio are not audio wires. They are DATA wires. There is an amp/processor in the rear of the car that delievers a signal to the radio. This is how the OnStar and audible car chimes work through the stereo system.
I talked to a couple different installers about how to do it and they said that you'll need to run new wires from the speakers to the new radio. Best Buy wanted over $150 to install it.
AnswerI have an aftermarket Pioneer CD player in my 2003 Trailblazer, the wire harness for the install is $70-$150 depending on where you go. I suggest having a professional install, it will save you a lot of time, money, and scratched knuckles. my Pioneer deck cost me $300, and the $150 it cost @ circuit city to have it installed was well worth the money in my opinion. They should warranty against theft for a pro-install. They will leave your RCA Preouts in the floorboard so you can run your amp if you supply the RCA cables and request them to do so. Mine had the Bose package so I stuck with my component speakers. Never let anyone tell you that you HAVE to replace the wiring, IF they do they couldn't find their @$$ with both hands and a map. If that offends you then sorry, but the truth hurts. OEM wiring is good enough for Bose so I say it's good enough for me.go to auto parts store they will tell you and should rent you one...
inspect, look, listen, clean and feel A compression test will also help.
i have the code for the radio reset but i dont know how can you tell me
Usually the aftermarket radio you put in needs a wiring harness you can buy at most audio stores and big electronic stores like Best Buy. The back of the package will tell you which wires connect by color. Remember, solder is the best tool for connecting wires but usually permanent.
Just remove the fuse and look at it.
Trailblazer doesn't have a cable. There is a speed sensor on the Transmission. The guage is electronic and is the most common problem in the Trailblazer.
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 5.7 4x4. Can you tell me where the IAT Sensor is located ? I have a G-Force chip to install. Also can you tell me the 2 correct wires to use ?
It is called a Cabin Filter. Go to any Advance auto parts and purchase a Purolator Cabin Filter. It comes with complete instructions. They can tell you if your vehicle has one.
can you tell me why my 1999-2000 Chevy trailblazer light is on
Check your owners manual for a plastic card with the code. If you cannot find it then you have to remove the radio and call the dealer. Tell them that you disconnected your battery and the radio went into code. They will ask you for the serial # off the radio and they will give you the code. Good Luck
No one can tell you the code as it is specific to the radio in your can and no others. The get the code go to the link I will post and sign up at the Honda Owners Link. After signing up click the quick link "retrieve radio code". Follow the instructions.
The misfire code will tell you by the last number which cylinder is misfiring. Exchange the coil pack with another and see if the code moves. You will need a simple code reader to do this.A common one in #4 as it sometimes gets moisture from the hood when it is opened.
