What type of transmission fluid does my 1989 toyota pick up truck take, manual 4 speed.
Automatic? Read the information on the transmission dip stick, it will tell you what type of fluid to use. Standard? Use Mercon.
Take down the VIN number from the truck..call your local Chevy dealer call the service departement..ask them to give you the specs for your truck. this will tell you the rear-end ration what type of trans and so forth,..there is also a tag on the transmission near the tail saft or the side.
Depends on what model year and what type of transmission.
Type F
It will be a 4L60E if it's an automatic.
Super Ten is a transmission, not a truck type, and doesn't indicate the layout of the truck.
If it is an automatic transmission then it will be the 350 turbo that was put in it from the factory.
dextron III
Manual transmission is a stick shift. You have to manually change the gears using the shifter and the clutch.
Assuming this is an automatic transmission, pull the dipstick out and read it, it will tell you the proper ATF to use.
Examine the transmission dip stick, it will tell you what type of fluid it requires.
