Trailblazer doesn't have a cable. There is a speed sensor on the Transmission. The guage is electronic and is the most common problem in the Trailblazer.
Fuse/ Dimmer Switch/ Illumination switch/ or just a new cluster all on its own. depends on what broke
There is a major malfunction in the speedometers of trailblazers. GM seems to have recalled many GM auto's with this issue just not the tralblazer.
I wish it did, my gas gage is broke also, you have to remove the instrument cluster to replace it
Three possible reasons. Gear in transmission which is plastic could be broke. Cable itself broke or speedometer head in dash broke. Good luck.
Sounds like the speedometer cable broke.
you can, but you need to be fairly good at soldering as they are soldered on the board. Find the correct size bulbs will be a challenge also. Buick had a better idea. No wonder thy went broke
IT CAN BE ONE OF THREE THINGS. THE SPEED SENSOR IN YOUR TRANSMISSON MESSED UP, BROKEN OR DISCONECTED WIRE ON EITHER THE TRANSMISSOIN OR ON THE BACK OF THE GUAGE CLUSTER, OR THE CHIP ON THE BACK OF YOUR GUAGE CLUSTER HAS FRIED IN ON SPOT. OR IF YOU SPUN THE NEEDLE PAST 120MPH YOU COULD HAVE BROKE THE NEEDLE.
its broke
pull your dash out if their is a thin flat wire that looks like computer wire that has a plug on one end that may be un pluged or broke
In my personal experience the speedometer stopped working because the mechanical drive cable broke.
I didn't know my car was going 72 mph because the speedometer broke. The needle on the speedometer bounced whenever I hit a pothole. The speedometer's needle was stuck at 15mph. Before I could glance at the speedometer, the policeman's radar gun clocked me going over the speed limit.
possible cable Remove from transmission and check if in one piece - if not remove speedometer head and replace cable to transmission and head
