take the hood off, un bolt it from the transmission, remove any wires hoses etc, and lift it out, its not a rice burner or front wheel drive, the hardest part is bellhousing bolts and exhaust manifold bolts
no all you have to take down is the exhaust and the gas tank the drive shaft is above the gas tank
Good idea to do so
The year, engine size and if it is the intake manifold or an exhaust manifold gaskets would help.
If you aren't hearing a lot of exhaust noise and you're just getting smoke, you have either an oil leak or antifreeze leak that is getting on the exhaust manifold. If you're getting oil on the manifold you have a fire hazard and should take care of the problem immediately. If you hear exhaust gas leaking around the manifold you need to replace the gasket or possibly the manifold is cracked and you need to replace the manifold.
Its on the drivers side of the motor behind the exhaust manifold. Take the manifold cover off and you will be able to see it between the 3rd and 4th exhaust pipes on the side of the motor.
you jack the car up, whatever side exhaust manifold u take off that side of tire u remove the heat shield and unbolt that manifold. u take off that tire because u have to get those hard to reach areas , and you might need to take off the exhaust from under the car it takes about 20 min if u know what your doing, but its pretty simple
To remove the upper intake :Remove the H.O. 5.0 plate. The screws are torx head . Remove the bolts underneath. Lower is pretty self explanatory Hope this helps Mark VII Heaven.
Its Located be hide the Exhaust manifold, You have to take off the Cat, to get to it
You Must take the exhaust off at the manifold.
If it is the intake manifold, there will be vacuum leaks, backfire, and poor performance. If it is the exhaust manifold, you will have loud exhaust noise which may warrant a citation - also, emissions control laws will be violated. Take the manifold ro a shop where it can be re-surfaced or try to find a product at your local auto parts store that will help seal the manifold. - Good luck.
