Not a lot of fun. You might as well change the timing belt at the same time. Drain all the coolant. Jack up the car on the front passenger side. Remove the passenger side wheel. Put a jack under the oil pan. Detach the engine mounts on the passenger side of the car. Remove all external belts. Remove the upper timing belt cover bolts Lower the engine using the jack. Remove the water pump pulley. (3 bolts) Remove the upper timing belt cover. Disconnect the coolant line running across the front of the engine from the water pump. (2 bolts on a flange) Pull the timing belt. Pull the water pump. Installation is just reversed.

It is best to replace the whole axle, Its easy to do not to mention pretty inexpensive....
You can't repair it you can only replace it.
