I have a 2001 Ford Escape. They are 2.5" midrange tweeters!

To replace, I took out the round grommet below the upper sail, which houses the tweeter. This allowed me access to the screw just below the upper speakers! Taking out this screw loosened the door panel enough to where I could remove the black plastic speaker sail panel! You just pull straight back on the black sail panel and it should pop off! There are only two plastic retainer clips that hold it on! If it doesn't want to come, then I used a screwdriver to slightly give it a tug! Mine popped right off, but be careful as to not damage those clips! Now you can see the speaker which is held in by two hex screws! The speaker connects like any other speaker with two guick slides! This is for just the speaker, the in-line crossover is in the wiring below the tweeter!

Good luck on finding a replacement though! Some people, I noticed, have put a 3.5" midrange tweeter in it's place with the speaker dome cover showing on the outside of the sail!

Hope I did a good job explaining, and good luck!
