If you have the sealed beam type (headlight sunk in and surrounded by black plastic trim) you remove the screws surrounding the headlight, disconnect the electrical connector, and put in a new one.
If you have the composite type (headlight and marker light in one unit and more aerodynamic) then you get to have fun. There are two ways to go about this. Either you can reach behind the headlight assembly and try to unplug the electrical connector to get to the bulb socket (you have to squeeze the two tabs and turn counterclockwise and then pull out) or you can remove the entire assembly. That takes two bolts and makes things much easier if you can't reach the plug in back to remove the bulb socket. Then once you have the bulb socket out and you have the bulb in front of you, put the new bulb into the socket and put it back in the assembly. (Don't Touch The Glass!!!)
Wal-Mart and other oil change shops will help you install headlight bulbs, but if your whole assembly is broken, do as stated above and remove the bolts holding it to the radiator support core, take out the bulb socket, and reverse to install.
New answer HeadlineThe electrical plug must be unplugged from the bulb on the back.On the back of the light there is a ring that is about 3inches in diameter that must be twisted and removed. Then you must remove the rubber cover that seals the bulb. Then there is a retaining wire that must be unclipped to release the bulb. Battery must be removed on the drivers side to access the bulb.Yes it shoud fit. Geo metros had the same headlights from 1995 - 1999
It is built into the headlight switch.
you have to unscrew bulb from back of headlight ( twist then pull out), then the bulb is replaced and do the exact opposite to replace. There may be a small clip you can use a flat head screwdriver to help with this. Hope this helps.
you go in from the backside of the headlight assembly (under hood) it come out similar to the way we used to change tail light bulbs
You have to replace the entire headlight assembly not just the cover.
remove the retaining screws. pul oyt headlight and unplug it. plug in the new one and replace the retaining screws.
There ain't one
Are you changing the headlight bulb, or the entire headlight assembly? Either way it would be much easier and time saving to go to your local autoparts store and pick up a HAYNES guide which has complete instructions and pictures.
take one off at a time, and replace with a new one. then so on.
open the hood and there is a bracket with 2 screws take that braket off the take off plastic cover then you can do the job
First, if the headlight is dimmed check the fuses first. And all that is holding the light in is a few screws
It is on the driver side, behind headlight.
