Remove any braces that block access. Remove the ground (neg) cable first, then positive cable. Taking a ratchet with a 12" extension and a 13 mm deep socket, remove the battery hold down bolt and bracket at the bottom of the battery. Reverse the procedure; installing the ground cable last. I hope this helps you. Mark

It is under the back seat on the driver's side, not under the hood. Rob

You also have to remove and reconnect the hoses that vent the acid vapors to the exterior. Very important step, as you do not want these toxic gases polluting the cabin of your vehicle. The great part about the battery being under the back seat is that you can even do this procedure in the rain. The bad part about it is that you cannot stand up. You will be hunched over the whole time, and probably on your knees. Not recommended for those of us who are "larger than the average bear." This battery is very expensive. It is a 100 class battery with 770 CCA. You will not find it at Walmart. No matter where you go, you will pay at least twice as much as you would for an ordinary battery. At the GM dealer, be prepared to pay almost three times as much for the thing to be installed. I got over fairly easy. The GM dealer was going to charge me about $200 for the battery to be installed. I went to an Interstate Battery dealer at Christmas time and got an AARP discount. I paid $150 plus tax. That was $120 for the battery and $30 (1/2 hr labor) for the installation, because I was at the mercy of the shop where my battery died that day. I still saved $50 over the dealer price.
