Its actually the easiest one to do. First remove the 4 1/4 inch screws that hold the heater box together. They are on the bottom of the large plastic box you can see inside the truck on the passenger side. 3 are easy to get to. the 4th it the one closest to the firewall and nearer the drivers side. you will need a 4 inch long extention and a small swivel to get to it. Once you have the 4 screws out. Open the box by gently pulling down on the lip. Now you can see the heater core. There is only one screw holding it in place, Its on the drivers side its another of the same 1/4 inch screws. Loosed it and push the small bracket out of the way and you can now gently pull down on the core and then assuming that you have already removed the heater Hoses from under the hood you can pull toward the rear of the truck and the core will come out. Reverse the process to install the new one and your done. I did mine and it only took about 20 minutes. Good Luck!

I have a 2002 Chevy SilerRado 1500 Pick up Truck, 2 wheel drive. My broblem is with the heater not coming on. I checked the fuse Box on the drivers side of the dash board label HTR/COOLING. The fuse was ok. I would like to know how to locate the Heater Core and replace it if possible. I haven't checked the thermostat. thanks in advance
Remove the water supply hoses from your 1992 Chevy S 10 pickup truck heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new heater core.
