I would check a salvage yard. Or a dealer.
All you have to do is, When the glove box is open just open it again when it's closed. hope this helps.
I purchased a used 1999 Chevy Malibu and had to replace the glove box because the latch was broken. I purchased another a the local salvage yard and I want to know how to take the lock out of the old door and install it in the new one.
The 1979 Chevy Silverado glove box latch is held in place with two retaining screws. Remove the retaining screws and the glove box latch will come off.
Replace the door latch.
On the 2004 model (as well as some others) there will be two screws on either side of the latch as you look at it with the gloe box door open. Simply remove those two screws and press on the latch and it will come out. If your latch broke as mine did you may have to use a little bit of pressure. Once you have the old latch out place the new latch in the slt and replace the screws.
Replace any broken parts or adjust latch assembly
Hi, I have a link below that shows several views of the hood latch for a 2001 model Venture, but I am pretty sure they are the same between these years. Good Luck, Greg
To remove the glove box on a Chevy Celebrity pull the glove box out, then push up on the tab on the underside of the box to release the latch that keeps the globe box in. It will then simply pull the rest of the way out.
open the glove box latch then you will see the filter
I have some pictures of of the latch from my van on my website. Check the "Web Links" on the left of this page to see them. Take Care, Greg
The oil filter is on the forward side of the engine directly below the hood latch.
