You will have to remove a couple of vacumme hoses and the throttle cable.Anything that obstructs the 8 nuts holding the cover down.Once you have clear access to the cover undo the nuts, pry the lid off very gently,maybe tap the edges with a rubber hammer. Once its off, clean both mating surfaces with a small stiff bristle brush,toothbrush will work and clean with carb cleaner. A new gasket is preformed, just match the shape of gasket up with the base and be sure to use alittle high heat gasket silicone. It is normally blue in color. Finally, be sure to torque the nuts down to factory specs. Hope this helps.
