you have to replace the entire hub assembly. the bearings are non-serviceable. in order to change the hub assembly you must first pull the wheel, brake caliper, and caliper bracket off the car. then you have to get the axle nut off, I use an 1 5/16 socket on it. after you hav ethe axle nut off then you have to get the tie rod end off the spindle--be carefull not to twist it or you will have to have the car aligned after you are done. if it is your first time it is a good idea to have the car aligned anyway. you also have to take the 2 boolts out of the strut to get the spindle to swing down away from the axle. once you have the spindle down there are 3 bolts in the back of it that hold the hub in. take the bolts out and wiggle or tap the hub out (with a rubber mallet) the front of the spindle. then just install the new hubin the reverse order of taking it out.
The front wheel bearings, of a Pontiac vibe, can be replaced by first removing the front wheel. Next, remove the axle end cap. Remove the bearing and reverse the process to install the new bearing.
