Trouble code P0401 means: Insufficient EGR Flow Detected Replace the EGR Valve
you need a scanner or code reader, this will give you diagnostic trouble codes but it does not tell you what to repair, only which system has malfuction. if a tool was made that told you what to repair on car, every mechanic would own one. try autozone or any other nationwide auto parts retail center, they usually have code readers, but i repeat, you dont make a repair based solely on diagnostic trouble code
You will have to replace the broken component. With out knowing what line broke, or what part the line broke off of, I can not give a better answer.
The first step is have the system checked for trouble codes. The cause will be the main factor in the repair.
1. Verify the complaint. (Just to make sure there is actually a problem) 2. Determine any related symptoms. (Look for anything that could be related to the problem) 3. Analyze the symptoms. (look closely at the related symptoms to find a common cause) 4. Isolate the trouble. (Narrow down your results to make sure you're fixing the right problem) 5. Correct the trouble. (Make the repair) 6. Verify the repair. (Check to make sure the repair you made has solved the problem)
it means misfire on cylinder 2, to repair- it mean check spark plugs, spark plug lead, loose wire, check coil pack & the y pipe which goes to the catalytic converter,
check the gas cap....if it is tight and sealed, could be a small leak in a gas line
You need to have a trouble code diagnostic scan done... Advance and AutoZone do this for free... and repair anycodes the scan comes upwith
What do you need? A diagnostic?, a repair? Do you know what problem is? What are symptoms?
You will need to have both computers checked for trouble codes, and then repair the causes of the codes to get the lights to go off.
You don't repair, you replace.
