Remove the fuel tank or remove the bed, your choice.
Unbolt it from inside, lift it out.
in the fuel tank. it was easier for me to unbolt and remove the bed to gain access to the fuel pump.
You can either remove the bed, or use a transmission jack to lower the tank. I find it easier for a shade tree mechanic to remove the bed. Either way you have to access the pump on top of the fuel tank.
To remove the door locks on a 1991 S10, the door panel has to be removed. There are bolts inside that hold the lock mechanism in place.

You can either drop your tank to get access to it or the easiest way i have found is to remove your bed. there are 6 bolts holding it on plus the wiring to your tail lights. 4 bolts behind the rear tire and 2 in front. after the bed is off you can use a flat head screw driver and a hammer to remove the lock on the pump then unhook your hoses and it will come right out.
