i just popped mine off with a screwdriver.it worked just fine.
The speaker covers are held in with a screw, remove it and tilt it out away from where the screw was. then remove the screws holding the speaker in and remove the speaker.
Reverse the process to install the new speakers. You will need to remove the speaker covers from your 1995 Chevrolet rear speakers. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speakers.

Speaker grilles are held in with a combination of velcro tabs and clips. The grilles just pull out toward you. You can pry on them a little from the bottom edge to get it started. Just press them back into place to reinstall.

Which motor do you have SOHC or DOHC?
you need a flathead screw driver to pop open plastic covers and you need a philups screw driver to remove the speakers ! once speakers out pull wires from speaker wire new speaker put back the same way you took off
TAke the knobs off and there are nuts under them that need to be removed.
Remove the radio and bring it to your GM (except Saturn and Saab) dealer parts department for exchange.
driver's side, under the dash. If you remove the left speaker cover and speaker, you should be able to see it and have access to the removal screws
