The rear of the console has two bolts on either side. You will need an Allen wrench. Unbolt them and remove the console.

To remove a factory CD player from a 2000 Honda CR-V first inspect the center console of your vehicle. There should be several mounting screws holds the CD player. Remove them and proceed to slide the unit out of the center console. Lastly remove the wiring clip behind the radio.
In the bottom compartment there is a thin rubber Matt that needs to be removed to expose the bolts.
11. Disconnect the battery cables (negative first, then postive). 2. Use a screwdriver to pry out [very gently and carefully] the gear selector trim bezel from console. 3. Remove the screws holding the console to the floor. 4. Lift the console up and over the shift lever. Disconnect antenna electrical connectors and remove the console from vehicle.
Just remove the console and you can get to it.
REMOVE THE CENTER CONSOLE TRIM FROM AROUND THE GEAR SHIFT. ONCE THAT IS OUT OF THE WAY THERE ARE TWO BOLTS THAT HOLD THE IGNITION SWITCH IN THE DASH. REMOVE THE BOLTS AND THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND YOU SHOULD HAVE IT IN YOUR HAND.
The CD changer is in the center console of a 2000 Mercury Villager
1) Remove the screws holding the center console in place. *Note: The center console is separated into 2 sections: The armrest, and where the stick shift is. 2) Carefully remove and unlatch where the two pieces connect and pull the armrest section out of the vehicle avoiding the E brake. 3) Remove either the shift boot from the shifter OR take off the shifting knob. 4) Carefully Pull the section out and above the cup holder. and that's it. then simply reverse the process to put it back on. i hope this helped
