First of all make sure you do not have air bags inside the door panel.( I don't think there are but you should be able to tell)If the Malibu has crank windows as opposed to power windows,you will need a special tool to remove the window crank handle.Sometimes a small pick can be used to remove the clip,but don't lose the clip,it is a spring clip and they like to take off.Next check for any screws that may be holding the panel on.These are usually Phillips head and could be located around the door pull handle,the mirror if it is manually adjustable,around the bottom edge of the panel. It could be secured with clips in which case you pull on the panel carefully.Once the clips release you will probably have to lift up slightly to clear the top edge of the door.unplug any electrical connections.Dont let the panel hang.
