steer wheel must come off,gently
push and turn horn contact wire, now you will see a steel plate this is called a lockplate
it lock wheel from turning when key is out, you need a tool to remove this plate, auto zone lends tool, this tool pushes plate down enough to remove snap ring that hols plate onto shaft, once plate is out remove turn signal lever unscrew it lefty loosey
now remove phillip
screws tha
hold turn signal switch also remove 4 way hazard switch. now look at new lock cylinder you will see a button that moves in and out when tumbler is turned now find the button on old switch and push this button on old tumbler to remove switch make sure key if foward
and pull on tumbler while you are pushing release button, install new cylinder put turn switch screws back put lock plate make sure you line up the keyway

tool depress enough till you see snap ring grove slide snap ring in, now look at end of steer shaft and splined

Remove the screws on the side of the steering column. Remove the screws underneath the steering column and pull the bottom half of the column down. Slide a pin punch into the hole at the ignition tumbler assembly's bottom. Force the tumbler upwards and pull it out of the steering column.

Key or ignition tumbler is worn. If you cannot remove the key, then you will have to remove the tumbler assembly and replace it. If you can get the key out, then try a key that is not used very often. If it works, have a duplicate made of that key and destroy the other key with the problems.
remove the ignition tumbler from column and crank it with a insulated handle flatblade screwdriver if the ignition is located in the dash remove key tumbler by inserting a small pin in the hole located above the key hole and it will pop out using a screwdriver and turn it over that way
