On a 2003 Gran Prix -Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove air bag fuse.There are two yellow color connectors,underneath the steering wheel disconnect.Let car discharge 20 minutes.Make sure car wheels are straight,turn steering wheel 90 degrees.
On the back of the steering ther are four access holes.Whats in there is a pin with a spring and a wire,you have to move or unhook or disengage that wire from those pins.You can by an air bag release tool $12.00 Auto zone,which allows you to release two pins at a time,or use a 1//4 inch screw driver.
Thats about it pretty simple.
