transmission fluid is checked with the car cooled off -never when running-(daddmac)
You can just change fluid, filter and gasket
in the driver seat of the car.
Some of transmission doesn't have drain plug ,the best thin to drain your transmission is losing the bolts and draining slowly the fluid ,at least that you have a machine to drain the entire fluids.
You add tranny fluid right into where the dipstick is
You can check the automatic transmission fluid on an Olds Alero by finding the check plug. It is located about half way down on the transmission. Loosen the plug and slowly pull it out.
The '76 olds delta had a Turbo-Hydromatic 375 (TH375B) transmission. This trans had a lot of shared internals with the TH400 but in a lighter package. This was a great trans and I actually lost an external cooler and still was able to limp home ~10miles w/o any fluid left in the trans. The 2000 Olds Bravada uses Dextron iv automatic transmission fluid. The fluid is specific and other types should not be substituted.
To replace the transmission fluid in the 1999 3100 V-6 Olds Cutlass, first remove the transmission drain plug from the underside of the vehicle. Drain all of the old fluid. Then, replace the drain plug and add new fluid through the transmission dipstick holder in the engine compartment.
