The 88 Prelude does not use a dual timing belt. It has a single timing belt

The water pump on a 1985 Delta 88 Royal is in the engine compartment. It is located next to the timing belt.
Follow these steps 1. Remove Timing belt & Crank Puly. 2. Remove Timing belt cover. 3. Remove Tensioner and its spring & Remove / Replace timing Belt 4. Align Timing Marks as Carnk pully below and Cam Pully to top Mark. 5. Assemble all parts and Enjoy. Regards Ehsan ehsanwah@yahoo.com

Have a look at www.gates.com manufacturer of all kinds of belts including timing belts. Their website indicates that most Honda engines are interference engines. In a word, most likely it will damage the valvetrain if the belt breaks. exhaust valves bye-bye If you broke the timing belt on an 88 Accord, don't waste your money getting the engine fixed or replaced. You can purchase a 1192-1993 Accord for less money than you would spend repairing your 1988 Accord.
