Put key in ignition. Radio and everything else should be shut off so you can hear the fuel pump turn on. Turn key to start position. If you don't hear a hum/whine sound coming from the fuel pump, that means the pump is not working. Check for loose connections in the wires, a bad ground connection, or replace the pump altogether. Because it's not turning on and sending any fuel to the motor.
check the fuel filter first replace then still a problem , listen for a humming or whine on fuel tank if none change the pump
Swap the fuel pump relay with another like relay in the fuse/relay center. If the problem with the fuel pump goes away, the relay was bad. If not, knowing GM fuel pumps, the fuel pump is the problem.
It is located inside the gas tank. Do you know for sure that ur problem is ur fuel pump?
You may have a problem with the fuel pump relay. Or the positive wire may be grounding. Check for continuity from this wire to a good ground.
The engine wont run that's how ya know!
Yes, and I would like to know where the fuel pump is located.
It is important to know the problematic symptoms of a car part. With a fuel pump, problem signs are trouble with accelerating, shuddering, and lurching while driving.
Fuel pump not working / replace pump Also need to check fuel pump fuse and relay before replaceing the pump. It would help to know the year and engine size and what you are working on.
A noisy fuel pump can not be fixed. The pump can only be replaced when there is a problem with it.
The fuel pump on a 91 doesn't have a reset as far as I know the main fuel pump relay usually causes the problem a d replacement is about 60 dollars unless you can repair relay that takes 30 min If you have the know how
Check the fuel filter fuse to see if it has blown. Also replace the fuel pump relay just to make sure is not defective. If that does not solve the problem then there is a problem with the wiring to the pump. It is also possible the new fuel pump is defective.
Problem other then Fuel Pump
